                  Resume

                  Resume:

As a certified Infant Massage Instructor, my background in Family Studies (Intensive Family Practice) and Midwifery I have a strong foundation to coach and support families enhancing child and parental bonds.

I am an antenatal and clinical educator working in postnatal units and birthing units. I also have over 15 years' experience working with vulnerable families, running multicultural supported parenting and playgroups.

I initially trained in General Nursing, working in many and varied community and Occupational Health settings, including Manufacturing, Construction, Transport and NSW Police. I have undertaken Scientific Research on Health Effects of Pepper Spray with the NSW Police, prior to going back into clinical midwifery and family work.

I take great delight in seeing infants and children bond deeply with their parents and extended family – knowing through my academic studies how beneficial these bonds can be for a child’s future in our complex world.

                  Teaching Style:

The style of teaching I practice is a demonstration model with support to enhance skills. Parents are often given loads of unwanted advice that erodes their self-esteem and confidence. My aim is to demonstrate various ways of soothing and bonding with your infant or child and allowing you to find your own unique communication methods that build your confidence and skills in parenting. My practice is evidence based and build on reliable and current research. My aim is to help you turn everyday parenting experiences into positive and rewarding memories strengthening bonds that are already there.

                  Something Unique:

I have a broad academic knowledge base with a diverse practical experience from working with trauma and young children in care, adults with complex migration experiences and modern families who are interested in modern parenting.
