Introduction to Mindfulness

In this half day workshop, we will explore the four domains of mindfulness and how they can be used to bring you to the here and now, as well as the difference between Mindfulness and meditation. Research and applications of mindfulness will be covered so you know the, “why” however once you have been practicing Mindfulness for a little while the benefits will become clear. We will also explore the difference between a “being” and “doing” state of mind and some triggers that can be used to bring you back to the present in times of stress or uncertainty. Mindfulness is a practical tool for busy people, especially those who believe they can’t meditate.

  • Please wear lose comfortable clothes, bring a notepad, pen and an open heart. Afternoon tea will be provided.

At WEA Hunter we offer a wide variety of Business, Lifestyle & Leisure courses at various locations throughout Newcastle and the Hunter Region.
Course enrolment must be accompanied by a fee; we are unable to hold places for people or accept deposits on Lifestyle courses. Once enrolment is completed students will receive a course confirmation either in writing or by email. This course confirmation constitutes a receipt.
Please check your confirmation letter to ensure you have the correct time, date and location of your course as well as any necessary requirements. There is a room directory located at each venue directing you to your classroom. Vending machines are located at both Laman & King street venues and parking fees will apply.
